In conjunction with our new special exhibit, "Driven to Drive: Defining Our Identity," which opens May 16, our first movie in the 2016 Summer Film Series will be "Cars."
Hotshot rookie race car Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on the old Route 66, he meets Sally, Mater, Doc Hudson and a variety of quirky characters who help him discover that there’s more to life than trophies and fame. With the voice talents of Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt, Larry the Cable Guy, Cheech Marin, Tony Shalhoub, Michael Keaton, George Carlin and – of course – John Ratzenberger, "Cars" (2006) is rated G, is just shy of 2 hours in length and has something for everyone in the family. Released by Pixar, it won the 2007 Golden Globe for Best Animated Film.
