This charity ride celebrates cancer survivorship in the Brazos Valley and beyond with proceeds benefiting St. Joseph Health System’s cancer services.
CALENDAR:
Friday, April 22, 5:00 am – Prologue "St. Joseph Gran Gravel" Race. Ultra Endurance Riders will be unsupported on a route of approximately 500 miles. Riders may also add the Gran Fondo 100 mile route as a "victory loop" to their 500 mile race for a total of over 600 miles.
Saturday, April 23, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – Expo. The Expo will include packet pick-up for participants, vendor booths, bike tune ups, tribute banner signing, and fun activities.
Sunday, April 24, 7:00 am – St. Joseph Gran Fondo. Participants begin at 7:00 am with 100, 70, 40 mile riders beginning in that order.
Sunday, April 24, 8:00 am – Family Bike Parade. Families are encouraged to ride on our neighborhood route. The route will be approximately 6 miles in length with one water stop along the way.
Throughout the day, spectators can enjoy food, drink, and entertainment including live music and activities for children. All Gran Fondo riders will receive finisher’s medals and event photography will be on hand. Rest Stops will be available along the routes.
LOCATIONS:
The Gran Gravel prologue will begin at the starting line for the St. Joseph Gran Fondo at the Atlas Development (the corner of Traditions Drive and HSC Parkway). Route will travel east, primarily on gravel roads through Sam Houston National Forest, Huntsville State Park around Lake Livingston, and back to the starting line where racers will finish their last 100 miles on the Gran Fondo route.
The Expo will be held at Tradtions Club
The Gran Fondo will start and finish at the Atlas Development.
All routes will end at Traditions Club where everyone is invited to the Post Ride Party.
