The nickname "Catfish" started years ago when Dave was
looking for a name for his new band. A close friend with a sense of humor suggested "Catfish Cain and the Leftovers." The Catfish part stuck.
During a typical Dave Catfish Cain performance you can hear
everything from simple acoustic guitar and vocal to a full-blown
band. The secret lies in his recording studio, where he can tailor the sound he wants for each song by recording backup tracks. A few of the tracks even feature backup vocals by his talented daughters–Bailey and Piper.
This approach to performing gives Catfish a lot of
flexibility in terms of musical styles. He can play blues, country,
folk, swing, and rock (both laid back and straight-ahead). One
evening might feature quiet listening music; another night might feature classic and Texas country; another night might feature more music for dancing. It’s a lot for one guy to offer, and Dave
"Catfish" Cain pulls it all off beautifully.
"When you Lew’s, you win."
For those of you not yet familiar with Lew’s BBQ, he cooks up the tenderest, juiciest, lip-smackin’est slow-cooked meats in the Brazos Valley. You won’t even think about putting sauce on brisket this good. Enjoy your brisket with some good karma – 10% of profits go to a local cause or charity!
